Avocado Seed: The Hidden Treasure That Cleanses Your Body, Lowers Cholesterol, and Protects Your Heart. I’ll give you the recipe for a simple “Hello.”

🥑 Avocado Seed: “Hidden Treasure” or Health Myth?

The claim that avocado seeds “cleanse the body,” lower cholesterol, and protect the heart is not supported by good human evidence.

What about the seed?

Avocado seeds contain various plant compounds that have shown antioxidant or other effects in laboratory and animal studies, but there isn’t enough human research to establish that eating avocado seed is safe or provides meaningful health benefits. (Healthline)

So I wouldn’t recommend a homemade avocado-seed tea, powder, or smoothie as a health remedy.

🥑 The fruit is a different story

There is considerably better evidence for eating the avocado flesh. Studies suggest that replacing foods high in saturated fat with avocado can modestly improve some cholesterol measures, particularly LDL cholesterol, although the evidence isn’t strong enough to call avocado a treatment for heart disease. A safer “avocado recipe”

Try:

  • ½ ripe avocado
  • Tomato and cucumber
  • A handful of leafy greens
  • Beans or chickpeas
  • Lemon juice
  • A small amount of olive oil
  • Black pepper and herbs

This gives you fiber, unsaturated fats, and other nutrients without relying on the unproven avocado-seed remedy.

Bottom line: 🥑 Eat the avocado; don’t assume the seed is medicine. There is currently insufficient evidence to recommend consuming avocado seeds, and “detox” claims are not scientifically established. (Healthline)
