7 Foods That Kill Worms in the Intestine

If you mean intestinal worms/parasites, there isn’t good evidence that ordinary foods can reliably kill an established intestinal worm infection. Some foods have compounds studied in laboratory or animal research, but they shouldn’t replace proven antiparasitic treatment.

7 foods sometimes discussed for parasite control

  1. Garlic — contains allicin and other sulfur compounds with antimicrobial activity.

  2. Pumpkin seeds — compounds such as cucurbitin have been investigated for antiparasitic effects.

  3. Papaya seeds — small studies have explored their potential against intestinal parasites, but evidence is limited.

  4. Coconut — has compounds with antimicrobial properties, but it isn’t an established worm treatment.

  5. Pomegranate — some laboratory research suggests antiparasitic activity.

  6. Carrots and other fiber-rich foods — may support normal bowel function, but they don’t kill worms.

  7. Fermented foods such as yogurt — can support gut health, but probiotics aren’t a treatment for intestinal worms.

What actually works depends on the worm. Medicines such as albendazole, mebendazole, praziquantel, or pyrantel are used for different parasites, and the appropriate drug and dose vary by species.

If you suspect worms because you’ve seen worms or eggs in your stool, have nighttime anal itching, abdominal symptoms, or unexplained weight loss, tell me your symptoms and age, and I can explain the safest next step.
