You only need 2 natural ingredients! How to clean a gas stove top so it looks like new

Yes—if you want a simple two-ingredient natural method, try baking soda + white vinegar.

🧽 How to clean a gas stovetop

You need:

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • A soft sponge or microfiber cloth

Steps:

  1. Make sure the stove is completely cool and remove the grates, burner caps, and other removable parts.
  2. Wipe away loose crumbs and grease.
  3. Sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the dirty surface.
  4. Lightly spray or drizzle white vinegar over the baking soda. Let the fizzing action work for about 10–15 minutes.
  5. Gently scrub with a damp, non-abrasive sponge.
  6. Wipe everything clean with a damp microfiber cloth, then dry thoroughly.
  7. Wash the grates and burner caps separately. Make sure they are completely dry before reinstalling them.

For stubborn, baked-on grease

Make a thick paste from baking soda and a small amount of water, apply it to the spot, and let it sit for 20–30 minutes before scrubbing. Use a plastic scraper for stubborn residue rather than a metal utensil that could scratch the surface.

Important: Don’t pour vinegar or water directly into the burner openings or ignition components. Avoid mixing vinegar with bleach or ammonia. Also check your stove manufacturer’s cleaning instructions, especially if the cooktop is glass or has a special finish.
