Why colonoscopy hasn’t disappeared
The major advantage of conventional colonoscopy is that the doctor can see a suspicious area, remove many polyps, and obtain tissue for biopsy during the same procedure. The newer tests mainly detect abnormalities; they generally can’t treat them.
