If you’re referring to the viral claim “add this to yogurt and lose 10 kg”, be careful with it. There is no single ingredient that reliably causes a 10-kg weight loss, and eliminating added sugar for a year doesn’t automatically guarantee weight loss.
🥣 A better yogurt-for-weight-loss approach
Use plain, unsweetened yogurt and add:
- Berries or another whole fruit for sweetness and fiber
- Chia or ground flaxseed for fiber and healthy fats
- A small portion of nuts for protein and healthy fats
- Cinnamon for flavor if you enjoy it
The important thing is the overall eating pattern and your total calorie intake—not a “secret” ingredient.
Also, avoiding added sugar is different from avoiding all sugar. Whole fruit and plain dairy contain naturally occurring sugars and can absolutely fit into a healthy weight-loss diet.
If you’re trying to lose weight, a gradual loss of about 0.5–1 kg (1–2 lb) per week is generally considered more sustainable than trying to lose several kilograms in a few days.
