🍗 Easy Crock-Pot Chicken Breasts
Yes—you can put raw, thawed chicken breasts directly into a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Place the raw chicken breasts in the crock pot.
- Pour in the chicken broth.
- Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with all the seasonings.
- Cover and cook:
- LOW: about 3–4 hours
- HIGH: about 2–3 hours
- Check the thickest part with a food thermometer. Chicken must reach 165°F (74°C) to be safe.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice or shred.
🥣 For extra-tender shredded chicken
After cooking, shred the chicken in the crock pot and stir it into the juices. It’s delicious in sandwiches, tacos, salads, rice bowls, or alongside vegetables.
Important: Use thawed chicken, not frozen chicken, in a slow cooker.
