🍗 Easy Crock-Pot Chicken Breasts

Yes—you can put raw, thawed chicken breasts directly into a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Place the raw chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth.
  3. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with all the seasonings.
  4. Cover and cook:
    • LOW: about 3–4 hours
    • HIGH: about 2–3 hours
  5. Check the thickest part with a food thermometer. Chicken must reach 165°F (74°C) to be safe.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice or shred.

🥣 For extra-tender shredded chicken

After cooking, shred the chicken in the crock pot and stir it into the juices. It’s delicious in sandwiches, tacos, salads, rice bowls, or alongside vegetables.

Important: Use thawed chicken, not frozen chicken, in a slow cooker.
