The headline “8 Drugs That Cause Serious Dementia” is misleading. There aren’t eight medications that are proven to directly cause dementia in everyone who takes them. However, several medication classes can cause confusion, memory problems, sedation, or delirium, and some have been associated with increased dementia risk—particularly with long-term use in older adults.
