If your orchid has lots of healthy green leaves but isn’t producing flowers, don’t assume it needs a secret kitchen remedy.

For most Phalaenopsis orchids, the best “special ingredient” is simply proper watering plus the right orchid fertilizer.

💧 What Should You Use?

Use clean water when the potting mix has dried sufficiently, and use a balanced orchid fertilizer diluted according to the label during periods of active growth.

You don’t need sugar, milk, coffee, rice water, or other homemade mixtures. These aren’t reliable orchid fertilizers and can create problems such as mold or root damage.

1. Bright, indirect light ☀️
Give your orchid plenty of bright light without exposing the leaves to harsh direct midday sun.

2. Let excess water drain 💦
