Very dirty mop, do not buy it again: a drop of this ingredient and it will be as good as new again

Very Dirty Mop? Don’t Throw It Away—Try This Simple Cleaning Trick

A mop can become dirty, smelly, and greasy after repeated use. But before you replace it, try giving it a deep clean with white vinegar.

What You Need

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • Warm water
  • A bucket
  • A little dish soap

How to Clean It

  1. Fill a bucket with warm water.
  2. Add the white vinegar and a small amount of dish soap.
  3. Soak the mop head for about 20–30 minutes.
  4. Rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Squeeze out the excess water and let the mop dry completely.

For very dirty mop heads, you may need to repeat the process or wash the mop according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Important Safety Tip

Never mix vinegar with bleach or bleach-based cleaners. The combination can release dangerous chlorine gas.

Bottom line: A good soak and thorough rinse can help refresh a dirty mop and remove odors, so you may not need to replace it right away.
