Bay leaves are 100,000 times more potent than Botox. They erase wrinkles, even at 70 years old. Leave an “OK” to see the recipe in the first comment.

That claim is false and potentially misleading.

🌿 Can bay leaves replace Botox?

No. There is no good scientific evidence that bay leaves are “100,000 times more potent than Botox” or that they can erase wrinkles, even at age 70.

Botox (botulinum toxin) works by temporarily reducing muscle activity. This can soften certain dynamic wrinkles, such as forehead lines and crow’s feet. Bay leaves don’t have an equivalent mechanism or proven clinical effect.

Bay leaves do contain plant compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, but that doesn’t mean they function as an anti-wrinkle treatment.

What actually helps with wrinkles?

For evidence-based skin care, the most useful measures include:

  • Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) — probably the most important preventive measure.

  • Moisturizer — can temporarily make fine lines look less prominent.

  • Topical retinoids such as retinol/retinoid products — have evidence for improving fine wrinkles and photoaging.

  • Professional treatments such as botulinum toxin, chemical peels, lasers, or fillers when appropriate.

And be cautious about applying concentrated bay-leaf oils or homemade preparations to the face—they can cause irritation or allergic contact dermatitis.

So the “100,000 times more potent than Botox” statement should not be taken as medical or cosmetic advice.
