You don’t need harsh chemical cleaners to get greasy, cloudy oven-door glass looking clear again. A simple baking-soda paste can loosen baked-on grease and grime.
What you’ll need

- A little warm water
- Dish soap
- Soft sponge or microfiber cloth
- Plastic scraper or old bank card
- Clean damp cloth
The simple method
- Make a paste: Mix baking soda with a small amount of warm water until it forms a thick, spreadable paste.
- Apply it: Spread the paste over the cool oven-door glass, concentrating on greasy or baked-on areas. Avoid getting paste into vents, seals, or electrical components.
- Let it sit: Leave it for about 15–30 minutes so it can soften the grime.
- Gently scrub: Use a non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth. For stubborn spots, carefully use a plastic scraper.
- Wipe clean: Remove the residue with a damp microfiber cloth, rinsing the cloth repeatedly.
