A warm cloth, a little castor oil, and a quiet hour lying down. It’s a comfort ritual, not a cure, and we say so plainly.

That can be a reasonable comfort ritual, as long as it isn’t presented as a treatment or “detox.”

A medically responsible way to phrase it would be:

A warm cloth, a little castor oil, and a quiet hour of rest can be a soothing self-care ritual. It may provide warmth and temporary comfort, but there isn’t strong clinical evidence that castor-oil packs treat internal diseases, infections, inflammation, or “detox” the body.

If using a castor-oil pack, use it only on intact skin, keep the warmth gentle, and stop if you develop burning, itching, redness, or a rash. Don’t use it to delay evaluation of persistent or unexplained abdominal pain.
