“Just 1 Cup Makes a Peace Lily Bloom Like Crazy” — Is It True?
This is another viral plant-care claim that makes a single ingredient sound miraculous. There is no evidence that one cup of a homemade mixture will reliably make a peace lily (Spathiphyllum) suddenly produce lots of flowers.
What actually matters most is light and overall plant health. University extension guidance says peace lilies can flower year after year when given proper care, particularly bright, indirect light, adequate moisture, warmth, and appropriate fertilization.

If you want more flowers
Give it bright, indirect light. Very low light can keep the plant alive but greatly reduce flowering.

Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Don’t let the pot sit in standing water.

Fertilize lightly. Peace lilies don’t need heavy feeding. One extension recommendation is liquid fertilizer at a low dose about three times a year; another recommends quarter-strength fertilizer to avoid root and leaf-tip damage.

Keep it warm and away from cold drafts and heating/air-conditioning vents.

Don’t over-fertilize. Excess salts can burn the roots and leaf tips rather than produce more flowers.

What about banana water, rice water, coffee, milk, or baking soda?
These popular DIY recipes aren’t necessary and aren’t proven to make a peace lily “bloom like crazy.” Some can even create problems if they encourage excessive salts, organic buildup, or inappropriate soil chemistry.
The best “one ingredient” is really light: move the plant to a brighter location with indirect sunlight, then provide modest, appropriate fertilizer if the plant is actively growing.
If you tell me what the viral recipe says to put in the one cup, I can tell you whether that particular ingredient is useful, harmless, or potentially damaging.
