Did You Know That When a Lizard Visits Your House, It’s a Sign of… 🦎
You may see social-media posts claiming that a lizard entering your home is a sign of good luck, bad luck, wealth, pregnancy, death, or an upcoming event. These are cultural beliefs—not scientifically established signs.
In reality, a lizard usually enters a house for very ordinary reasons:
-
Food: Insects such as flies, moths, mosquitoes, and cockroaches attract insect-eating lizards.
-
Warmth or shelter: Homes can provide a comfortable hiding place, especially during temperature changes.
-
Light: Outdoor lights attract insects, which can indirectly attract lizards.
-
Easy entry: Small gaps around doors, windows, roofs, or pipes can provide access.
🏠 How to discourage them
Reduce insects around the house, keep food covered, repair gaps and screens, and avoid leaving doors or windows open unnecessarily at night.
If you find one indoors, there’s usually no reason to panic. Keep your distance, give it an exit route if possible, and avoid handling it directly.
So if a lizard visits your house, the most likely “sign” is simply that your home has provided food, shelter, or a suitable environment—not that something supernatural is about to happen.
