🍯🧄 Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Thighs
Tender, juicy chicken thighs coated in a sweet, savory honey-garlic glaze. Easy enough for a weeknight dinner.
Serves: 4
Prep: 10 minutes
Bake: 35–45 minutes
Ingredients
- 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- ⅓ cup honey
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt, or to taste
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds and chopped parsley/spring onion, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 200°C / 400°F.
- Make the glaze: Combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, black pepper and chili flakes.
- Prepare the chicken: Pat the thighs dry and place them skin-side up in a lightly greased baking dish. Season with a little salt.
- Add the sauce: Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the chicken, turning the pieces so they’re well coated.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for approximately 35–45 minutes, depending on the size of the thighs. Baste with the pan juices once or twice during cooking.
- Check for doneness: The thickest part of the chicken should reach 74°C / 165°F on a food thermometer.
- Finish: For extra caramelization, place under the broiler/grill for 1–2 minutes, watching carefully because honey can burn quickly.
- Rest and serve: Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley or spring onions.
🍚 What to serve with it
Try it with steamed rice, roasted potatoes, green beans, broccoli, or a simple cucumber salad.
Tip: If using boneless, skinless thighs, start checking them around 25–30 minutes so they don’t dry out.
