WARNING! THESE TABLETS CAN CAUSE BLOOD CLOTS, BLOOD THROMBOTS, AND HEART ATTACKS

⚠️ “These Tablets Can Cause Blood Clots, Thrombosis and Heart Attacks” — The Real Story

That headline is too vague. Some medications genuinely can increase cardiovascular or clotting risks, but the exact drug matters enormously.

💊 One important example: non-aspirin NSAID painkillers

Medicines such as ibuprofen, naproxen and diclofenac can increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including heart attack and stroke. The FDA says this risk can occur relatively early in treatment and may increase with higher doses or longer use. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

That doesn’t mean everyone taking these medicines will develop a blood clot. They’re often appropriate when used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest necessary time.

🩸 Another example: estrogen-containing contraceptive pills

Combined hormonal contraceptives can rarely cause blood clots, heart attacks or strokes. Individual risk depends on factors such as age, smoking, blood pressure and medical history. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

❗ Don’t stop medication because of a headline

Some medicines that affect clotting actually prevent heart attacks or clot-related strokes. Aspirin, for example, can be beneficial for certain people with established cardiovascular disease, but it can also cause serious bleeding and isn’t appropriate for everyone. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

If you give me the names of the tablets—or upload a photo of the package—I can check each one and tell you whether it genuinely carries a risk of blood clots, heart attack or stroke, who is most vulnerable, and what precautions are recommended.
