Two Spoons in the Morning: A Natural Remedy for Bone Pain, Diabetes, Nerves, and Depression

“Two Spoons in the Morning” for Bone Pain, Diabetes, Nerves and Depression — Is it real?

This is almost certainly an exaggerated health claim. Without knowing exactly what the “two spoons” contain, there’s no responsible way to say that taking them every morning can treat bone pain, diabetes, nerve problems, and depression.

No single food, oil, herb, or homemade mixture has been shown to treat all four conditions. The NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health notes that evidence for most supplements marketed for diabetes is insufficient, and some can cause serious side effects or interact with medications.

🦴 Bone pain

Bone pain has many possible causes, including vitamin deficiencies, osteoporosis, injuries, infections, and other medical conditions. A “two-spoon” remedy shouldn’t be used to determine or treat the cause.

🩸 Diabetes

Some supplements—including cinnamon, berberine and chromium—have shown possible but limited effects on blood glucose. The evidence isn’t strong enough to replace established diabetes treatment.

🧠 Nerve problems

Alpha-lipoic acid has been studied for diabetic nerve pain, but the evidence is inconsistent. Even where a supplement may help symptoms, it doesn’t mean it treats the underlying diabetes or nerve damage.

😔 Depression

Depression is a medical condition and shouldn’t be treated with an unproven kitchen remedy. Some complementary approaches have been studied, but evidence varies considerably, and supplements can interact with prescription medicines.
