This natural and effective remedy for relieving constipation

🌿 A Natural Remedy That May Help Relieve Constipation

One of the better-supported natural options is prunes (dried plums). They contain fiber and sorbitol, which can help draw water into the bowel and make stools easier to pass.

3 simple approaches

  1. Prunes or prune juice 🍑
Start with a small serving. Too much can cause gas, bloating, or diarrhea.

  2. Increase fiber gradually 🌾
Try oats, pears, kiwi, vegetables, beans, and ground flaxseed. Increase fiber slowly and drink adequate fluids.

  3. Stay physically active 🚶
Regular walking can help stimulate normal bowel function.

You can also try sitting on the toilet at a regular time after breakfast, without rushing, and avoid repeatedly ignoring the urge to go.

⚠️ When not to rely on home remedies

If constipation is persistent, severe, or a new problem, speak with a healthcare professional. Seek prompt care if you have severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, marked abdominal swelling, or inability to pass stool or gas.

“Natural” doesn’t necessarily mean appropriate for everyone, particularly if you take several medications or have been told to restrict fluids.
