🧽 The Trick to Cleaning Your Oven “Effortlessly”—Even Burnt-On Grime

For baked-on grease and burnt food, you don’t need a miracle ingredient. Heat, time, and a suitable degreaser do most of the work.

The easy method

Let the oven cool completely.
Remove the racks and loose crumbs.

Warm the oven briefly.
If your oven is safe to warm empty, turn it on for a few minutes and then switch it off. It should be warm, not hot, so the cleaner can work more effectively.

Apply a suitable oven cleaner.
Follow the product’s label carefully. For stubborn carbonized grease, a commercial oven cleaner is generally more effective than household “hacks.”

Give it time to work.
Let the product sit for the recommended time rather than immediately scrubbing. This is the part that makes the job much easier.

Wipe and rinse thoroughly.
Use a damp cloth or sponge to remove the dissolved grime. Repeat for stubborn areas.

Clean the racks separately.
Soak them in warm water with dish detergent, then scrub with a non-abrasive pad.

🧂 What about baking soda?

For a gentler alternative, make a paste from baking soda and a little water, spread it over suitable enamel surfaces, leave it for several hours or overnight, then wipe and rinse thoroughly.

It can help with grease and residue, but severely carbonized deposits may require a proper oven cleaner.

⚠️ Important safety rules
Never mix oven cleaner with bleach, ammonia, vinegar, or other cleaning chemicals.
Follow your oven manufacturer’s instructions, especially for self-cleaning ovens.
Don’t coat heating elements, fans, electrical components, or gas burners unless the manufacturer specifically permits it.
Avoid abrasive tools that can damage enamel or glass.
Ventilate the kitchen when using chemical oven cleaners.

The real trick is simple: don’t scrub burnt grease while it’s dry. Soften it first, let the cleaner work, then wipe it away.
