too broad. Magnesium supplements can interact with some medications, but it is not true that you should “
never use magnesium” with all of them.
Important examples include:
- Certain antibiotics (such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones): magnesium can reduce their absorption. They usually need to be taken several hours apart.
- Levothyroxine: magnesium can reduce absorption; spacing doses is generally recommended.
