Clear your throat and lungs of mucus with this recipe – just 2 ingredients

Clear Mucus From Your Throat and Lungs With a 2-Ingredient Recipe?

There isn’t a two-ingredient drink that can literally “clean” or remove mucus from your lungs. Your respiratory system already has mechanisms for moving mucus upward and clearing it.

If you’re dealing with ordinary mucus from a cold, allergies, or throat irritation, a simple warm drink with honey and water may soothe the throat and make coughing more comfortable.

🍯 A simple soothing drink
1 cup of warm water
1–2 teaspoons of honey

Stir and sip slowly. Honey can help soothe cough symptoms, but it doesn’t cure an infection or remove mucus from the lungs.

For children under 1 year old, never give honey because of the risk of infant botulism.

Other things that can help
Drink enough fluids.
Use a saline nasal spray if postnasal drainage is contributing to throat mucus.
Avoid cigarette smoke and other respiratory irritants.
Rest while recovering from a respiratory infection.
If you have asthma or COPD, use your prescribed treatments as directed.
🚨 When mucus needs medical attention

Seek medical care if mucus or coughing persists for several weeks, repeatedly returns, or is accompanied by fever, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain, unexplained weight loss, or worsening symptoms.

Coughing up blood, severe difficulty breathing, blue/gray lips, or severe chest pain requires urgent medical attention.

Bottom line: A warm honey drink can soothe an irritated throat, but no simple recipe “cleans” the lungs. Persistent mucus is better addressed by finding and treating its underlying cause.
