Easy Southern Honey Butter Skillet Corn — 4 IngredientsServes: 4–6
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 10–15 minutesIngredients
- 4 cups corn kernels, fresh or frozen
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Melt the butter: Place a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Add the corn: Stir in the corn and salt. Cook for about 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is hot and tender.
- Add the honey: Reduce the heat to low and drizzle in the honey. Stir well so the honey and butter coat every kernel.
- Finish: Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until glossy and lightly caramelized.
- Taste and serve: Add a little more salt or honey if desired. Serve hot, preferably straight from the skillet.
Southern-style tip: For an extra-rich version, let the corn cook in the butter for a couple of minutes before adding the honey. The slight caramelization gives it that sweet-and-savory flavor that makes people scrape the skillet clean.
