That claim is false and potentially dangerous. A healthy colon does not normally hold 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds) of accumulated “waste” that can be safely flushed out overnight.
If you’re trying to relieve constipation, safer approaches include:
- Drink adequate fluids.
- Gradually increase dietary fiber from vegetables, fruit, beans, and whole grains.
- Stay physically active.
- If needed, ask a pharmacist or doctor about an appropriate constipation treatment.
Avoid extreme colon cleanses, detox drinks, enemas, or large doses of laxatives unless medically directed. They can cause dehydration, electrolyte disturbances, and other complications.
If constipation comes with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, significant swelling, blood in the stool, or inability to pass stool or gas, seek medical attention promptly.
There is no credible “overnight recipe” that removes 15 kg of colon waste.
