How to use baking soda to remove dark spots, wrinkles and dark circles from your face.

Baking soda is not a good treatment for dark spots, wrinkles, or dark circles. Although it may temporarily make skin feel smoother, baking soda is alkaline and can disrupt the skin’s natural barrier, causing dryness, irritation, and sometimes more pigmentation—especially if your skin is sensitive.

Better options

  • Dark spots: Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ is essential. Products containing azelaic acid, vitamin C, or a retinoid can gradually improve pigmentation.
  • Wrinkles: Sunscreen and a topical retinoid such as adapalene can help with fine lines over time.
  • Dark circles: These can result from genetics, pigmentation, visible blood vessels, hollowness, allergies, or lack of sleep. Treatment depends on the cause.

If you’ve already used baking soda

Rinse it off gently, don’t scrub, and apply a bland moisturizer. Avoid putting lemon juice, toothpaste, or other irritating ingredients on the area.

If you want, tell me your age, skin type (oily/dry/sensitive), and whether the dark spots are from acne, and I can suggest a simple, inexpensive routine without baking soda.
