How to Clean Dirty Pots and Pans Naturally

Here’s a simple, natural method that works well for grease, stuck-on food, and light burnt residue without harsh cleaners.

🧽 Baking Soda & Vinegar Method

You’ll need:

  • 2–3 tablespoons baking soda
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • Hot water
  • A non-abrasive sponge or scrubber

Instructions:

  1. Let the pot or pan cool, then remove loose food and grease.
  2. Add enough hot water to cover the dirty area.
  3. Add the vinegar and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Drain most of the water and sprinkle baking soda over the residue.
  5. Add a little water to form a paste.
  6. Let the paste sit for 15–30 minutes, then gently scrub.
  7. Rinse thoroughly and dry.

🔥 For badly burnt pans

Put enough water in the pan to cover the burnt area and add 2–3 tablespoons of baking soda. Bring it to a gentle simmer for about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, allow it to cool, and then loosen the residue with a wooden or silicone utensil.

Safety tips: Don’t use abrasive cleaners on nonstick coatings. Never mix cleaning chemicals such as bleach with vinegar. For cast iron, avoid prolonged soaking and dry it immediately after cleaning.
