Crock-Pot slow cooker with its interior liner severely melted and destroyed, likely caused by heating a plastic liner dry or exposing plastic directly to the hot heating element without enough food or liquid.

If you’re describing a damaged Crock-Pot for a warning post, I’d make the safety message clear:

Melted Slow Cooker Warning

⚠️ Melted Slow Cooker? Stop Using It Immediately

If the interior of a slow cooker or its liner has melted, warped, cracked, or been severely damaged, don’t try to scrape it clean and continue cooking.

A few important points:

  • Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely.

  • If plastic has melted onto or near the heating element, don’t use the appliance again unless the manufacturer specifically confirms it is safe.

  • Don’t attempt to repair or replace parts with improvised materials.

  • Never put a plastic bag, ordinary plastic container, or other non-approved liner directly against the heating element.

  • Slow-cooker liners should only be used if they’re specifically designed and approved for that appliance and cooking temperature.

A properly used slow cooker normally has the food contained in its intended ceramic/stoneware cooking vessel. Severe melting or scorching is a reason to stop and investigate the appliance rather than simply washing it out.

🔥 When plastic has melted around a heating appliance, safety comes first.
