A Simple Trick to Clean Your Oven Door Glass: Sparkling Results Without Harsh Chemicals

If you’re looking for a simple, low-chemical way to clean oven-door glass, try this:

🧽 Baking Soda + Dish Soap Method
What you need
½ cup baking soda
A few drops of dish soap
Warm water
Soft sponge or microfiber cloth
Plastic or silicone scraper
Steps

Make a paste
Mix baking soda with a little warm water and a few drops of dish soap until you have a spreadable paste.

Apply to the glass
Make sure the oven is completely cool. Spread the paste over the dirty glass, concentrating on greasy or baked-on areas.

Let it sit
Leave it for about 15–30 minutes. For stubborn buildup, you can leave it longer, but don’t let the mixture become completely cement-like.

Gently scrub
Use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth. For stubborn spots, use a plastic scraper rather than anything sharp or abrasive.

Wipe thoroughly
Remove the residue with a damp microfiber cloth, repeatedly rinsing the cloth until the glass is clean.

Buff for a shine
Finish with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove streaks.

⚠️ A couple of important precautions
Never clean hot oven glass—allow it to cool completely.
Avoid steel wool, abrasive powders, or metal scrapers that can scratch the glass.
Don’t spray liquid into the door vents, controls, or electrical areas.
Check your oven’s manual before removing the door or inner glass panels.

Quick tip: For greasy glass, adding a few drops of dish soap to the baking-soda paste makes it much more effective than baking soda alone.
