Put 2 drops in your ear and you will hear like before. Recover your hearing.

“Put 2 Drops in Your Ear and You Will Hear Like Before” — Is This True?

That claim is misleading. There is no universal two-drop remedy that can restore hearing. Hearing loss has many causes, and ear drops only help in certain situations.

When drops may help

If reduced hearing is caused by earwax blocking the ear canal, wax-softening drops can sometimes help. For example, NHS guidance says that olive or almond oil may be used for several days to soften impacted wax so it can come out naturally. nhs.uk

But this is not the same as treating hearing loss itself.

Don’t put random substances in your ear

Avoid viral recipes involving garlic juice, hydrogen peroxide mixtures, vinegar, essential oils, alcohol, or other homemade substances. They can irritate the ear canal or cause injury, particularly if the eardrum is perforated.

Even legitimate ear drops should not be used if you have a known or suspected hole in the eardrum unless a healthcare professional specifically recommends them. nhs.uk+1

And don’t use cotton buds or other objects to dig out wax—they can push wax deeper and potentially damage the ear or eardrum. Nice

🚨 Sudden hearing loss is different

If your hearing suddenly becomes much worse in one or both ears—particularly over hours or a few days—don’t experiment with ear drops and wait for them to work. Sudden unexplained hearing loss requires urgent medical assessment. NICE recommends immediate referral for sudden hearing loss developing within 3 days when it isn’t explained by an external or middle-ear problem. Nice+1

Bottom line: Two drops might help soften earwax, but they cannot generally “restore” hearing. If hearing has gradually declined, arrange a hearing evaluation; if it disappeared suddenly, seek urgent medical care. nhs.uk
