That “grandma hack” is usually a simple dryer-sheet or microfiber-cloth trick. The goal is to remove dust quickly while leaving less static behind.
Try this 2-minute blind-cleaning method
Close the blinds so the slats are flat.
Take a dry microfiber cloth and gently wipe from one end of each slat to the other. A clean old sock over your hand works too.
For stubborn grime, lightly dampen the cloth with water + a tiny drop of dish soap.
Wipe again with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
Don’t soak the blinds—especially wooden blinds, which can warp or stain.
For venetian blinds, you can also grip each slat between two fingers wrapped in microfiber and slide along it, cleaning both sides at once.
The “zero work” part is a bit of social-media exaggeration, but microfiber makes the job surprisingly fast because it traps dust rather than simply moving it around.
