My mom taught me this trick to diminish dark age spots on my hands in just 3 mins with 0 effort. Here’s how it works

That sounds like one of those viral “3-minute age-spot removal” hacks. The claim is almost certainly overstated.

If the trick involves lemon juice, toothpaste, baking soda, vinegar, or another kitchen ingredient, I wouldn’t recommend putting it on your hands. These substances can irritate or burn skin, and inflammation can actually make dark pigmentation more noticeable.

What actually helps age spots
SPF 30+ sunscreen every day on the backs of your hands helps prevent spots from getting darker and new ones from appearing.
Vitamin C, retinoids, or other pigment-targeting products may gradually improve some age spots.
A dermatologist can offer faster treatments such as laser treatment, cryotherapy, or chemical peels, depending on the spot.

And remember: a new, changing, irregular, very dark, bleeding, or non-healing spot should be checked by a dermatologist rather than treated as an ordinary age spot.

If you give me the ingredient or “trick” from the original post, I can tell you whether it actually works and whether it’s safe.
