Clean Your Iron in 30 Seconds
If your iron has a dirty or sticky soleplate, a quick clean can make a big difference—but don’t use abrasive cleaners or scrape it with metal, as these can damage the surface.
Quick method
Unplug the iron and let it cool completely.
Dampen a soft microfiber cloth with white vinegar.
Gently wipe the soleplate, concentrating on sticky or stained areas.
Wipe again with a clean, damp cloth to remove any vinegar residue.
If the steam holes are clogged, use cotton swabs lightly dampened with vinegar, then wipe them clean.
For stubborn burnt-on residue, check the iron manufacturer’s cleaning instructions first, since coatings differ between models.
Important: Never immerse an iron in water or pour vinegar into the water reservoir unless the manufacturer specifically says it’s safe. After cleaning, make sure the soleplate is completely dry before using it.
