Signs that your body may be about to suffer a stroke and that should never be ignored.

🚨 Signs That May Mean a Stroke Is Happening — Never Ignore Them

A stroke usually doesn’t give reliable warning symptoms days in advance. Instead, symptoms typically begin suddenly. A transient ischemic attack (TIA or “mini-stroke”) can cause similar symptoms that disappear, but it is still an emergency warning sign. (nhs.uk)

Remember FAST

  • F — Face: One side of the face suddenly droops or feels numb.
  • A — Arms: Sudden weakness or numbness, especially in one arm; one arm may drift downward.
  • S — Speech: Speech suddenly becomes slurred, confused, or difficult to understand.
  • T — Time: Call emergency medical services immediately. Don’t wait to see if it improves. (nhs.uk)

Other sudden warning signs

A stroke can also cause:

  • Sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body
  • Sudden loss or blurring of vision
  • Sudden confusion or difficulty understanding
  • Sudden dizziness, loss of balance, or difficulty walking
  • A sudden, extremely severe headache
  • Sudden nausea or vomiting, particularly alongside neurological symptoms (My Health London)

⚠️ Even if symptoms disappear

Don’t assume you’re safe because the symptoms lasted only a few minutes. A TIA can be a warning that a major stroke may follow, and urgent assessment is needed even after symptoms have resolved. (nhs.uk)

Bottom line: There is no dependable list of symptoms that predicts a stroke days beforehand. The most important thing is recognizing sudden neurological changes and acting immediately. If these symptoms are happening now, seek emergency medical help rather than waiting for them to pass.
