Ants Can’t Stand It! A Simple Way to Keep Them Away
One easy household option is white vinegar. Its strong smell can disrupt the scent trails ants use to navigate, so it can provide temporary relief.
Simple Vinegar Spray
You need:
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- Spray bottle
How to use it:
- Mix the vinegar and water.
- Pour into a spray bottle.
- Spray along ant trails, windowsills, doorways, and other entry points.
- Wipe the area clean.
- Repeat when ants return.
For Long-Term Control
Vinegar usually doesn’t eliminate the colony. For a persistent infestation, ant bait is generally more effective because worker ants carry the bait back to the nest.
Also keep food sealed, clean crumbs and spills, fix leaks, and seal cracks where ants are entering.
