Here’s a simple, natural method that works well for grease, stuck-on food, and light burnt residue without harsh cleaners.
🧽 Baking Soda & Vinegar Method
You’ll need:
- 2–3 tablespoons baking soda
- ½ cup white vinegar
- Hot water
- A non-abrasive sponge or scrubber
Instructions:
- Let the pot or pan cool, then remove loose food and grease.
- Add enough hot water to cover the dirty area.
- Add the vinegar and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
- Drain most of the water and sprinkle baking soda over the residue.
- Add a little water to form a paste.
- Let the paste sit for 15–30 minutes, then gently scrub.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry.
🔥 For badly burnt pans
Put enough water in the pan to cover the burnt area and add 2–3 tablespoons of baking soda. Bring it to a gentle simmer for about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, allow it to cool, and then loosen the residue with a wooden or silicone utensil.
Safety tips: Don’t use abrasive cleaners on nonstick coatings. Never mix cleaning chemicals such as bleach with vinegar. For cast iron, avoid prolonged soaking and dry it immediately after cleaning.
