Two Fruits That Regenerate Collagen in the Knees

The headline “Two Fruits That Regenerate Collagen in the Knees” is misleading. No fruit has been proven to regenerate lost knee cartilage or directly rebuild knee collagen in humans.

However, some fruits provide nutrients involved in collagen production and connective-tissue health:

🍊 1. Oranges and other citrus fruits

They are rich in vitamin C, which the body needs to synthesize collagen. Other good sources include lemons, grapefruit, kiwi and strawberries.

🥝 2. Kiwi

Kiwi is particularly rich in vitamin C and also provides other antioxidants. Getting adequate vitamin C supports normal collagen formation throughout the body.

What about knee cartilage?

Knee cartilage contains collagen, but eating a particular fruit doesn’t cause damaged cartilage to grow back. For osteoarthritis, evidence-based management can include exercise/strengthening, weight management when appropriate, pain treatments, and—in selected cases—procedures or surgery.

So the useful takeaway is: eat a varied diet rich in vitamin-C-containing fruits and vegetables for normal collagen production, but don’t expect a specific fruit to regenerate knee cartilage.

If you have knee pain or arthritis, I can also explain which foods have the best evidence for supporting joint health and which popular “cartilage-regenerating” claims are myths.
