SIGNS THAT YOUR HEART IS NOT RIGHT, PAY ATTENTION

If you’re asking about warning signs that could indicate a heart problem, these

are the important ones to take seriously:

🚨 Signs that need urgent attention

  • Chest pressure, squeezing, heaviness, or pain — especially if it lasts more than a few minutes or comes and goes.
  • Pain spreading to the arm, shoulder, back, neck, jaw, or upper abdomen.
  • Shortness of breath, particularly when it is sudden or occurs with chest discomfort.
  • Cold sweating, nausea, or vomiting along with chest symptoms.
  • Sudden dizziness, fainting, or feeling like you may pass out.
  • A rapid, irregular, or unusually pounding heartbeat accompanied by weakness, chest pain, dizziness, or breathlessness.
  • Unusual extreme fatigue, particularly when it is new or occurs with exertion.
  • Swelling of the ankles or legs, especially together with breathlessness or rapid weight gain.

Heart problems don’t always cause dramatic chest pain. Older adults, women, and people with diabetes can sometimes have less-typical symptoms, such as unusual fatigue, nausea, breathlessness, or discomfort in the back or jaw.

When to call emergency services

If someone has new or severe chest pressure/pain, difficulty breathing, faints, becomes severely weak, or develops symptoms suggestive of a heart attack, seek emergency medical care immediately rather than waiting to see whether it goes away.

If you tell me which symptoms you’re experiencing, the person’s age, and how long they’ve been happening, I can help you understand how urgent they may be.
