If you want the classic “2-minute, almost no-work” blind-cleaning trick, try this:
🧼 The Nana-Style Blind Hack
You’ll need:
- 1 clean microfiber cloth or old cotton sock
- Warm water
- A small amount of dish soap
- A pair of kitchen tongs
How it works:
- Mix the cleaner: Add a few drops of dish soap to a bowl of warm water.
- Make the blind-cleaning tool: Wrap a microfiber cloth around each side of the kitchen tongs and secure it with rubber bands.
- Lightly dampen the cloth. It should be damp—not dripping.
- Grab each slat between the covered tong ends and gently pull from one end to the other. The cloth catches dust from both sides at once.
- Work your way across the blinds, rinsing the cloth when it becomes dirty.
- Finish with a dry microfiber cloth if any moisture remains.
The trick: Cleaning both sides of each slat simultaneously means you don’t have to wipe the same blind twice.
⚠️ Tip: For wood or faux-wood blinds, don’t saturate the slats. Excess moisture can damage real wood or leave streaks. Check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions first.
