# Learn How to Clean 15 Kilograms of Waste from Your Colon in One Night

That headline is misleading and potentially dangerous. You cannot safely “clean 15 kilograms of waste” from your colon in one night, and a healthy colon does not need routine detoxes or cleanses.

What actually happens in the colon

The colon contains stool, water, bacteria, and other material, but claims that 10–15 kg of accumulated waste is stuck in everyone’s colon are not medically credible. Your digestive system continuously moves stool toward elimination.

Avoid “overnight colon cleanses”

Be cautious with:

  • Laxative mixtures taken in large amounts
  • Coffee or herbal enemas
  • Salt-water flushes
  • “Detox” powders or teas
  • Repeated enemas
  • Extreme fasting or dehydration

These can cause dehydration, electrolyte disturbances, diarrhea, kidney problems, and—in some circumstances—bowel injury.

If you’re constipated

Safer approaches generally include adequate fluids, gradually increasing dietary fiber, regular physical activity, and addressing medications or medical conditions that may be causing constipation. Some people benefit from an appropriate over-the-counter laxative, but the choice depends on the situation.

If you have severe or persistent constipation, significant abdominal pain, vomiting, a swollen abdomen, blood in the stool, fever, or inability to pass stool or gas, seek medical care rather than attempting a colon cleanse.

Bottom line: You don’t need to remove kilograms of “toxins” from your colon overnight. A healthy digestive system already has its own waste-removal process.
