Easy Southern Honey Butter Skillet Corn Recipe (4 Ingredients)

Easy Southern Honey Butter Skillet Corn — 4 IngredientsSweet, buttery and ready in about 15 minutes. It’s an easy side dish for chicken, turkey, barbecue, or a holiday meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups corn kernels — fresh or frozen
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the corn and cook for 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot and tender. If using frozen corn, cook until completely heated through.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the honey and salt.
  4. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring until the corn is glossy and coated in the honey-butter mixture.
  5. Taste and add a little more salt or honey if desired.

👩‍🍳 Tips

  • Fresh corn: Cut the kernels directly from the cob for the sweetest flavor.
  • Frozen corn: No need to thaw first.
  • For a more savory Southern-style flavor, add black pepper or a pinch of cayenne—but those would make it more than four ingredients.
  • Don’t cook the honey over very high heat; gentle heat keeps the butter from burning and the honey from scorching.

Serving idea: This pairs especially well with fried or smothered chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
