That headline is almost certainly clickbait. A kitchen ingredient cannot permanently tighten or lift genuinely drooping eyelids.
What may temporarily help
If the issue is puffiness rather than true eyelid drooping, a cool compress can temporarily reduce swelling and make the eyes look more open. Keeping the area moisturized may also improve the appearance of fine, dry skin.
You may see viral suggestions involving cucumber, egg white, potato, honey, or coffee. These can sometimes make skin feel temporarily tighter or less puffy, but there isn’t good evidence that they lift sagging eyelid tissue.
Why eyelids droop
True upper-eyelid drooping (ptosis) can result from aging-related changes, weakness of the eyelid-lifting muscle, nerve problems, injury, or other medical causes. It can’t be reversed with a food or DIY topical treatment.
⚠️ Important: If an eyelid suddenly starts drooping—especially with double vision, severe headache, unequal pupils, facial weakness, or other neurological symptoms—seek urgent medical attention.
And avoid putting lemon juice, baking soda, essential oils, toothpaste, or undiluted food ingredients directly into or close to the eyes; they can cause significant irritation or injury.
