Slice pool noodles into rings and wrap them with string lights. You’ll see why everyone’s obsessed with this one.

Pool Noodle + String Lights: A Simple DIY Decoration ✨

This is a clever craft idea. Cutting a pool noodle into small rings, wrapping them with string lights, and arranging them together can create a lightweight glowing decoration that looks surprisingly elaborate.

How to make it
Cut the pool noodle into rings about 2–4 cm thick. A serrated kitchen knife or craft knife can make cleaner cuts—use caution.
Arrange the rings into a shape you like, such as a wreath, cluster, flower, or hanging decoration.
Wrap or weave LED string lights around and through the rings.
Secure the lights with small pieces of floral wire, twist ties, or clear tape where necessary.
Add decorations such as ribbon, artificial greenery, ornaments, or lightweight flowers.
Hang or display it away from heat sources and anything that could catch fire.
🔥 One important safety tip

Use LED string lights, preferably ones designed for the intended location. LEDs produce much less heat than traditional incandescent lights, but you should still follow the manufacturer’s instructions and don’t leave homemade decorations with electrical lights unattended or operating while you’re asleep.

For outdoor use, make sure the lights and extension equipment are specifically rated for outdoor use and protected from moisture.

The result can look like a custom illuminated wreath or sculptural light installation—without requiring expensive decorations.
