My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

If you want the classic “2-minute, almost no-work” blind-cleaning trick, try this:

🧼 The Nana-Style Blind Hack

You’ll need:

  • 1 clean microfiber cloth or old cotton sock
  • Warm water
  • A small amount of dish soap
  • A pair of kitchen tongs

How it works:

  1. Mix the cleaner: Add a few drops of dish soap to a bowl of warm water.
  2. Make the blind-cleaning tool: Wrap a microfiber cloth around each side of the kitchen tongs and secure it with rubber bands.
  3. Lightly dampen the cloth. It should be damp—not dripping.
  4. Grab each slat between the covered tong ends and gently pull from one end to the other. The cloth catches dust from both sides at once.
  5. Work your way across the blinds, rinsing the cloth when it becomes dirty.
  6. Finish with a dry microfiber cloth if any moisture remains.

The trick: Cleaning both sides of each slat simultaneously means you don’t have to wipe the same blind twice.

⚠️ Tip: For wood or faux-wood blinds, don’t saturate the slats. Excess moisture can damage real wood or leave streaks. Check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions first.
