Instructions
For best food safety and flavor, brown the ground beef in a skillet first, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat. Do not put a large block of raw ground beef straight into the slow cooker.
Transfer the beef to the slow cooker. Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, and your preferred seasonings.
Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 3–5 hours, until the beef mixture is thoroughly hot and the beef reaches 160°F (71°C). Cooking time varies by appliance.
Break the dry noodles into smaller pieces and stir them into the hot mixture near the end. Add a little hot water if needed. Cover and cook for around 10–20 minutes, checking frequently until tender.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the noodles. Cover for another 5 minutes or until melted, then serve hot.
Tips to make it extra delicious
-
Add finely chopped carrots, peas, or bell peppers for extra vegetables.
-
Use the ramen seasoning packets sparingly because they can contain a lot of sodium.
-
For a creamier casserole, stir in a little cream cheese at the end.
-
Serve with a crisp salad or steamed vegetables.
Important: Don’t add the dry ramen at the beginning of a multi-hour slow cook; it will become overly soft. Adding it near the end gives you much better texture. Refrigerate leftovers promptly in shallow containers and reheat thoroughly.
Enjoy your cozy family dinner! 🍽️
