If you have a heart attack at home, do this in 10 seconds and you can save your life.(1 / 2)

If you think you’re having a heart attack, don’t rely on a “10-second trick”

There is no home maneuver that can stop a heart attack in 10 seconds. Claims about forceful coughing, drinking water, or doing a particular breathing technique are not substitutes for emergency treatment.

🚨 What to do immediately

  1. Call your local emergency service now. In Pakistan, Rescue 1122 is the emergency service in areas where it operates.

  2. Stop activity and sit somewhere safe. Don’t try to walk it off.

  3. If you have prescribed nitroglycerin, use it exactly as your doctor instructed.

  4. Ask the emergency dispatcher about aspirin. For some adults with suspected heart attack, chewing aspirin may be recommended if there is no aspirin allergy, active bleeding, or other reason to avoid it.

  5. Don’t drive yourself. Emergency medical transport is safer and can begin care while you’re being transported.

  6. If the person becomes unconscious and isn’t breathing normally, start CPR and use an AED if one is available.

Know the warning signs

Possible heart-attack symptoms include pressure, squeezing, or pain in the chest, discomfort spreading to the arm, back, neck, jaw, or upper abdomen, shortness of breath, cold sweating, nausea, or sudden unusual weakness.

Symptoms can sometimes be less typical in women, older adults, and people with diabetes.

The important “10 seconds” is recognizing a possible emergency and calling for help—not performing a viral home remedy.
