Did You Know Toads Come to Your House When… 🐸
If toads are showing up around your home, there’s usually a simple environmental reason, not a mysterious sign or omen.
Toads are attracted to places that provide:

Moisture — damp soil, gardens, leaking outdoor taps, or areas watered frequently.

Insects to eat — outdoor lights can attract moths, mosquitoes, and other insects, which in turn attract toads.

Shelter — dense plants, leaf litter, rocks, wood piles, and cool shaded spaces provide hiding places.

Standing water or nearby ponds — many amphibians need moist environments for breeding and survival.

Warm, humid conditions — they may become particularly active after rain.
If you don’t want them around
You generally don’t need to harm or remove them. Reduce outdoor lighting near doors, eliminate unnecessary standing water, fix leaks, and keep vegetation around entrances trimmed.
And there’s a benefit to having them around: toads eat many insects and can be helpful garden visitors.
So if a toad appears near your house, it’s usually telling you more about your yard’s moisture, shelter, and insect supply than about anything supernatural.
