Tiny White Bumps on Your Eyelids? Here’s What They Could Be 👁️

Tiny white or yellowish bumps around the eyelids are common and are usually harmless, but several different conditions can look similar.

1. Milia

These are small, firm, pearl-white bumps caused by keratin trapped beneath the skin. They frequently occur around the eyes and typically aren’t painful or itchy.

Don’t squeeze or pierce them yourself, especially near the eye. A dermatologist can remove persistent milia safely.

2. A blocked oil gland (chalazion)

A blocked Meibomian gland can produce a firm lump in the eyelid. It may be painless and can sometimes become swollen or tender.

Warm compresses for about 10–15 minutes several times a day may help. Don’t try to pop it.

3. A stye

A stye is usuallyred, tender, and swollen and develops around an eyelash or eyelid gland. It can sometimes have a small white or yellow center.

4. Xanthelasma

These are usually yellowish, flat or slightly raised patches, rather than tiny white bumps. They consist of cholesterol-containing deposits and should be assessed by a healthcare professional, particularly if newly appearing.
