That headline is misleading and medically unsafe. No drink or homemade recipe can reliably make cholesterol, arthritis, and fatigue become “zero” in three days.
- Cholesterol: Healthy eating, exercise, weight management, and medications when appropriate can lower LDL cholesterol, but meaningful changes generally take longer than three days. Current guidelines recommend monitoring cholesterol response over weeks, not days. (JACC)
- Arthritis: Arthritis is not one single disease, and there is no beverage proven to eliminate arthritis. Treatment depends on the specific type and cause.
- Fatigue: Fatigue can result from many things—including poor sleep, anemia, thyroid problems, infections, medications, depression, or other medical conditions—so treating it requires finding the underlying cause.
- “Detox” drinks and supplements: They shouldn’t replace prescribed treatment for high cholesterol or other conditions. The American Heart Association specifically notes that dietary supplements are not recommended as a treatment for cholesterol management. (www.heart.org)
A genuinely heart-healthy drink could simply be water or unsweetened tea, alongside a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and fiber and lower in saturated fat. (JACC)
If you have the actual recipe from this post, send it to me and I can check each ingredient for whether it has any evidence behind the claimed benefits—and whether it could interact with medications.
